Illustration Awards exhibition opens

The AOI Illustration Awards at Somerset House have opened to impressive crowds in it’s first few days.

Covering a broad range of illustration applications, from apps to hand drawn artwork applied straight to the walls by Scriberia, the show is attracting those from illustration lovers, to those who didn’t know illustration could cover so many angles.

Weekend talks from some of the Awards winners complement the artwork, giving an insight into how illustrations are created and the thinking behind their process. Anna Cattermole, Nate Kitch, Lesley Barnes and Ceri Williams will be giving talks on the Saturday’s across the exhibition period.

Work includes on-the-move reportage from Steve Wilkin, who published his sketches of fellow commuters, above, and the intriging and beautiful insect life Morphopolis app from Ceri Williams, below.

The new edition of Varoom magazine  – AfterWords: the Awards Issue – will feature all the section winners from the Awards.
