He/Him - Why did you create this work?
“Clear Path Ahead” is the title of the cover for Plansponsor Jan-Feb issue. The art director asked me to represent the concept of “Looking for clarity in a dense and confusing environment.” To achieve this, I created an image with three main elements: chaos, the protagonist, and the path to follow. The result is a surreal scene, filled with abstract elements and 3D shapes, blending disorder and direction into a single visual narrative. - How were your illustrations used?
The illustration was used not only on the magazine cover but also as a full-page spread inside, accompanying the publication’s main article. - What materials and techniques did you use?
For the sketching and thumbnails phase, I used Procreate. Then, I moved to a 3D software to create the final image, using Corona Renderer for the rendering process. - Was this project commissioned?

Simone Virgini is a freelance illustrator who has been living between Italy and Spain since 2014. He has a Fine Arts degree from Accademia di Belle Arti di Macerata. Soon after graduation, he enrolled in the master's illustration program at Barriera Art +Design in Valencia.
Today he works as an editorial illustrator for magazines, including PLANSPONSOR, PLANADVISER, Graffica, and El Pais Retina. - Where are you currently based?
