  • Why did you create this work?
The brief was to illustrate 'Poem For Ataahua' written by Alistair Te Ariki Campbell. My aim was to create a vibrant visual world where a child experiences the natural world at close proximity. She listens in on the private conversations of insects and trees, worms and bees. I used washes of water-colour and inks to highlight the constant and unpredictable movement inherent in the natural world.
