She / Her - Why did you create this work?
I was commissioned to design and illustrate the 10th birthday edition bottle for Rock Rose Gin. The brief was to create a timeline showing the story of the brand, that wraps around the entire bottle and joins seamlessly at the back. The illustration features the distillery, the family, the Scottish scenery as well as the botanicals that create the unique flavour of Rock Rose Gin. - How were your illustrations used?
The illustration was printed directly onto the ceramic bottle. 1000 birthday edition bottles were created. - What materials and techniques did you use?
Pen and ink drawings that were digitally transformed using a combination of colour and texture on Photoshop. - Was this project commissioned?

Sara Mulvanny is a freelance illustrator who is based in Surrey, England and represented by Agency Rush. She graduated from Kingston University with a BA (Hons) in Illustration in 2010 and has since worked on a wide range of projects from books & magazines to large-scale illustrations for museums & hospitals.
