She/Her - Why did you create this work?
“Astronaut Dad” is a picture book created with writer Skyr. It tells the story of a father and daughter living on opposite sides of the world, only able to see each other through video calls. When it is daytime for one, it is nighttime for the other. The challenge was to create images where they could share memories and build a strong connection, despite being apart. I blended reality and imagination to reveal the world through a child's eyes and the secret of day and night, time and space. - How were your illustrations used?
I created the illustrations for the picture book “Astronaut Dad”, including the book cover and inner pages. My illustrations were also used for animations and promotional materials. The book was published by PAPA Publishing House in 2024. - What materials and techniques did you use?
It was all completed using Adobe Photoshop, where I used digital brushes and the vector pen tool to create the images. - Was this project commissioned?
