She/her - Why did you create this work?
I wanted to create a picture book full of imaginative adventures in the dark, encouraging readers to face both the dark and their fears. The girl in the story is terrified of the dark, nervously searching with her flashlight, while the little monsters living in the darkness are just as scared of the light. As she shines the flashlight around, the monsters scurry and hide. - How were your illustrations used?
This children’s picture book was my college graduation project. I completed every step, from illustration to book design. - What materials and techniques did you use?
Created with colored pencils and markers, incorporating collage techniques, and final adjustments made in Photoshop. - Was this project commissioned?
