He - Why did you create this work?
These illustrations were created for Robert Harris’ best selling detective novel ‘Fatherland’ A historical fiction set in 1960’s Germany. The Nazi’s won the war and Hitler holds firmly onto power.
I tried to blend a few different elements; the powerful German aesthetic of bold, high contrast images along side a touch of mystery and film noir, balanced with1940’s,1960’s and a more contemporary style. - How were your illustrations used?
My illustrations were published on the cover and interior of The Folio Society's publication of the book 'Fatherland' by Robert Harris. - What materials and techniques did you use?
