She - Why did you create this work?
The brief for In cerca di Transwonderland was to design a cover that contrasts childhood memories with Nigeria’s decay. Building on the English edition, the focus shifted to the park entrance, with the title as a neon-style sign. The design blends vibrant and dusty tones, using dynamic typography to reflect the book’s emotional and political themes - How were your illustrations used?
My illustration was used as the cover for In cerca di Transwonderland by Noo Sara-Wiwa, published by 66th and 2nd. The design emphasizes the contrast between the author’s childhood memories and Nigeria's decay. It features the entrance of the Transwonderland amusement park with dynamic typography and vibrant colors, capturing the book’s emotional depth and political themes. - What materials and techniques did you use?
I began with sketches in ink on paper, capturing the essence of the landscapes and cultural elements. These sketches were then vectorized and digitally colored using software like Adobe Illustrator, allowing for precise detailing and vibrant hues to bring the scenes to life in a modern style. - Was this project commissioned?
