- Why did you create this work?
I wanted to celebrate Moldova’s winemaking heritage in a way that makes Moldovans proud. The National Office of Vine and Wine commissioned five illustrations reflecting their core messages. Inspired by Moldova’s forgotten mosaics, I used the technique to convey the complexity of local wines through a timeless yet modern visual style. - How were your illustrations used?
The illustrations promoted the National Wine Day, held in Chișinău’s Grand National Assembly Square. They served as a visual identity for the event, and were applied to stages, flags, banners, event merchandise, and large-scale physical installations. The illustrations will continue to represent Wine of Moldova internationally, reinforcing the country’s presence on the global wine stage. - What materials and techniques did you use?
I started sketching on my XP Pen tablet, refining the compositions to align with each slogan. I vectorised the sketches in Adobe Illustrator for precision and scalability. The challenge was to balance geometric forms and organic fluidity, reviving an art style by bridging tradition and modernity. - Was this project commissioned?
