He/Him - Why did you create this work?
The story of "Julie Capable" was published 20 years ago in France. My publisher wanted to edit a completely different version. He gave me carte blanche to create my own version of this story of grief, of a little girl rejected and her encounter with mystical cats who help her regain her self-confidence. With a lot of black and white and graphic gestures. - How were your illustrations used?
the series of illustrations and double-page spreads are taken from a 48-page book published by Les 400 Coups (in Canada, Belgium and France). - What materials and techniques did you use?
The sketches were made in the traditional way (sketchbook and pencils), then realized on ipadpro in Procreate. Then adjusted in Photoshop and laid out in Indesign. - Was this project commissioned?
