she - Why did you create this work?
I was commissioned by Biblioscopio Books Publishing to illustrate a book for all the pasta lovers out there. The story revolves around a little girl who loved pasta so much that she dreamed of planting pasta trees to enjoy her favorite food every day. It is a personal narrative about the writer's family, reflecting her love for her daughter and her desire to create a book dedicated to her and her parents, celebrating their shared passion for pasta. - How were your illustrations used?
As the illustrator for this project, I was responsible for all of the visuals in the book, including character design, compositions, text and the final artworks.
- What materials and techniques did you use?
The artworks were created by hand in Procreate, using wet acrylic and pencil on an iPad Pro. Photoshop and InDesign were then used for composition, text placement, and layout design to prepare the book for final production. - Was this project commissioned?

Ioulia makri is a multidisciplinary artist, designer and illustrator from Greece.
Her diverse portfolio spans across multiple mediums including painting, drawing, mural making & illustration. She graduated from the Product and Systems Design Engineering with major in Multitasking and Creative Exploration. She has professional experience in award winning creative studios in the design and advertising industry whilst her work has been exhibited in numerous solo & group exhibitions in Greece. - Where are you currently based?
