He/Him - Why did you create this work?
Set in an Orthodox religious school during the USSR's final years, the film explores the moral downhill of corruption—a central theme director Masha Egieva placed at its core. I represented this through a literal rabbit hole where the protagonist becomes trapped as he understands there's never just a single act of compromise. Corruption spreads relentlessly until only a moral vacuum remains. - How were your illustrations used?
The poster accompanied the short film through the international festival circuit in 2024 and 2025, appearing online on festival websites and social channels, as well as being printed as various-sized banners and in festival magazines. It was also printed for the film's premiere at Curzon Soho in London in March 2024. - What materials and techniques did you use?
The initial sketches were hand-drawn in pencil on the script's margins, then photographed and imported into Clip Studio for developing colour layouts sent to the director. Once the winning option was selected, the final artwork was produced digitally in Clip Studio. - Was this project commissioned?
