He/Him - Why did you create this work?
The City of Madrid has commissioned me to create a series of illustrations celebrating the centenary of the city’s most significant and enduring commercial activities. These illustrations do not depict specific stores but rather represent the broader category of traditional commerce that has defined the city for a century.
- How were your illustrations used?
Large-format works on various media will adorn the streets and buildings of Madrid throughout 2025. The illustrations are interwoven with subtle narratives and hidden details. - What materials and techniques did you use?
I begin laying down acrylic paint for the base colors and watercolor paste for the color glazes. Then I draw ink lines, scan everything, assemble the digital files, and calibrate the colors. - Was this project commissioned?
