  • Why did you create this work?
    The illustration's main focus is the Zikawei Library in Shanghai, China, preserving some of the real-world structure and layout. However, imaginative and dreamy elements have been added to create a fantasy-like atmosphere. Centered around the theme of books, the scene is set in an ocean of books, where the surroundings include iconic architecture to meet the client's needs, blending reality with creative expression.
  • How were your illustrations used?
    The illustrations were applied to a unique product combining a book and a lamp. When closed, it looks like a book, but when opened, it becomes a reading lamp. This design serves as both a functional light source and interactive art. The illustrations enhance its aesthetics, creating a cozy atmosphere while blending art with practicality.
  • What materials and techniques did you use?
    I used Procreate and Photoshop for illustration and design, ensuring rich details and vibrant colors.     Fan Tang is a freelance illustrator and designer from China. She graduated from the China Academy of Art with a degree in Game Art Design and later pursued illustration at Syracuse University. With over seven years of experience, she has worked with various clients in commercial illustration, including packaging, posters, and animation. Fan’s work is known for blending artistic expression with practicality, focusing on creating designs that engage and inspire.
