She - Why did you create this work?
These are part of a brand design project for a tango school that emphasises tango as a tool for not only mastering dance but also developing soft skills and emotional intelligence. I used a parabola to symbolise growth and the bounciness of tango movements. Newton's apple was added to represent knowledge and wisdom. The interlaced legs resemble a DNA molecule, symbolising systemic approach. - How were your illustrations used?

Ekaterina Skvortsova-Kowalski is a self-taught artist from Moscow, now based in Istanbul. A linguist by profession, she turned to painting, design, and illustration at 31. She won two gold medals for her comic books, was longlisted for the Jackson’s Art Prize, and shortlisted by the Golden Pinwheel and Communication Arts. In 2024, she had 2 solo exhibitions in Bodrum and Istanbul. - Where are you currently based?
