He/Him - Why did you create this work?
Alim Braxton has spent more than 25 years on North Carolina’s death row. During that time, he converted to Islam and learned to use his music as a form of therapy. The illustration depicts the empowerment that musical production gives to Braxton as he raps through a prison phone and overcoming his imposter syndrome to achieve his dreams. - How were your illustrations used?
