He / Him - Why did you create this work?
We were approached by Girl&Bear (VCCP) and asked to work on TfL’s 25th anniversary campaign. Charlie was one of a group of London artists approached and he was chosen for three of the final five executions. The campaign reimagines a selection of celebratory moments in the first quarter century of TfL's history. Cleverly incorporating the iconic "roundel" logo in each design, Charlie created art to mark the 'Baby on Board’ badge launch, the first Night Tube and the 2012 London Olympics. - How were your illustrations used?
The work ran extensively across the London Underground and billboards and OOH spots across the city from January 2025. It was officially launched at Liverpool Street Station where it was unveiled to the public on 27th Januart. It was also animated and ran across digital screens throughout London. - What materials and techniques did you use?
The illustrations began as sketches on paper. He then worked in Photoshop to refine the drawing and worked up the final illustrations. The work was layered and subsequently animated in-house by Girl&Bear (VCCP). - Was this project commissioned?

Charlie Davis is an illustrator whose work exudes quality. His images have a wonderful capacity to capture a moment in time, through human gestures and expressive shapes rich with texture. His illustrations tell emotive stories, be it a quiet moment of serenity or a dynamic sense of movement.
Charlie studied illustration at Falmouth University and since graduation has worked for clients such as Adobe, Cadbury, Playboy, Smirnoff, Audi the Daily Telegraph, Mr Porter, Fever Tree and many more.
