He/Him - Why did you create this work?
I was asked to illustrate the band 'Fontaines DC' for the cover-feature interview of So Young Magazine Issue 50.
I wanted to create something unique, special and interactive to celebrate both the magazine's anniversary and the success of the band's (at the time) upcoming album 'Romance' with illustrations inspired by the music video for their hit song 'Starburster'. - How were your illustrations used?
They were presented as part of a 9-page feature interview with the band in both print (2000 copies sold out) and digital publication [So Young Magazine]. In print the readers were encouraged to cut along the dotted lines to make for an interactive body-swap game. - What materials and techniques did you use?
Illustrations were created on an iPad Pro using the software 'Procreate' with the brush pack 'Monomania' and 'Debaser' Textures from True Grit Texture Supply. Then coloured and finished on photoshop. - Was this project commissioned?
