She/Her - Why did you create this work?
This is a cover illustration for my thesis children's book project. It follows Pip's journey from Charles Dickens' Great Expectations—how he grows, overcomes challenges, and discovers his purpose in life. - How were your illustrations used?
It will be the cover of a children's book. - What materials and techniques did you use?
I started by creating a pencil sketch, tracing it onto higher-quality paper, and adding color with gouache and watercolor paint. Lastly, I outlined the painting with pencil and scanned it for digital editing. For the typography, I designed it digitally and then hand-painted it with white paint. - Was this project commissioned?
