He/Him - Why did you create this work?
I was invited by Blablabla Media to direct a short animated adaptation of my picture book The Girl with the Occupied Eyes. It's the story of how a little girl is so hypnotized by a screen that she fails to notice the world around her. - How were your illustrations used?
My illustrations were used as graphic bible, layouts, character design and backgrounds. I also animated part of the movie and did the compositing with watercolour effects and post-production. - What materials and techniques did you use?
Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects, Rebelle 6, Toon Boom Studio, video footage - Was this project commissioned?

André Carrilho has worked as a graphic artist for over 30 years, collaborating with a wide list of publications including The New York Times, The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, New York Mag, Los Angeles mag, Wall Street Journal and The New Statesman.
