she / her - Why did you create this work?
I was commissioned by Tatrzański Park Narodowy to illustrate a re-edition of "Highland Spells". The book is a guide to the magical traditions of the Górale, the people who live in the Podhale (region of southern Poland) and the Western Beskids mountain range. This lexicon includes over 230 entries on a wide range of topics such as rituals, beliefs, spells, customs, witchcraft, sorcery.
- How were your illustrations used?
20 illustrations were depicting various entries in this lexicon.
- What materials and techniques did you use?
All illustrations were made by hand, using ink and paint. Since woodcuts are a big part of Górale culture I wanted to resemble this technique in my works. Also folk and medieval art were a big inspiration for me. - Was this project commissioned?

Visual artist and illustrator. Raised in the forest in Poland. Graduate of the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław. She specializes in illustration, drawing and printmaking (especially etching technique). Author of murals, book illustrations, posters and music album designs. In her works she focuses on subjects such as archetypes, nature, folktales, feminity and myths. - Where are you currently based?
