She/Her - Why did you create this work?
For the first issue of Pretty Wishes, a press I co-founded with friends Phoebe and Huilin, I created a series of ink drawings, digitally colored and risograph printed, capturing the diverse people of NYC. I'm captivated by New Yorkers—confident, unique, and full of life. New York’s energy fuels my illustrations, celebrating the beauty of coexistence in this one-of-a-kind place. - How were your illustrations used?
Pretty Wishes is a press dedicated to supporting female illustrators and sharing our voices and ideas with the world. Through this collaboration, we aim to create a platform to connect, share stories, and amplify the creative work of women in the illustration community. - What materials and techniques did you use?

Zhenyu Pan, an illustrator and storyteller, graduated from the School of Visual Arts with a BFA in Illustration in 2024, where she cultivated her dream of becoming a picture book illustrator. Inspired by the beauty of everyday life, personal experiences, and whimsical fantasy realms, she creates vibrant, narrative-driven illustrations that invite viewers into enchanting journeys.
