Her - Why did you create this work?
This project was an exploration of textures and their application to meaningful, tangible products. I designed a series of double-sided furoshiki—one side in gold, black, and cream, the other vibrant and festive—intended for Christmas gift wrapping. But their purpose goes beyond the holidays; they can be reused in countless ways.
It’s a blend of tradition, sustainability, and design, proving that beauty can be functional and that thoughtful choices can make a lasting impact. - How were your illustrations used?
The illustrations were printed on 100% cotton furoshiki, designed for personal use—whether wrapping gifts in a sustainable way or framing them as decorative pieces for the home. - What materials and techniques did you use?
I designed all the furoshiki in Adobe Illustrator and had them printed on 100% cotton fabric. - Was this project commissioned?
