She/Her - Why did you create this work?
I wanted to capture the haziness of a young woman drifting through the world, constantly reinventing herself. This cover gives a face to the unnamed "new American" in Lynne Tillman’s Motion Sickness. It’s part of a personal project on books about travel and identity, shaped by vignettes, places, facts, and fleeting encounters. - How were your illustrations used?
I create book covers for titles that have resonated with me as a reader. These designs are shared to celebrate the authors (in this case author Lynne Tillman) on my Instagram and showcase my visual portfolio for book cover design. - What materials and techniques did you use?
Hand drawn , gouache acrylic, gold leaf, on paper. The cover was edited on photoshop and typography was created on procreate. - Was this project commissioned?
