Why did you choose to enter this work?
I wanted to share a message that feels important to me and connect with others who relate to the issues conveyed within my project.

What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
My favourite thing about this project is being able to use bold, honest visuals to challenge harmful ideals and learning through the process how powerfully visual storytelling can convey a message.

What excites you most about being shortlisted?
The opportunity for my to work to be seen, and to join a community of creatives also using design to spark important conversations. It feels rewarding to know my message is reaching others.

Where do you usually work?
I usually work either on the sofa with the television on in the background or at my desk in my study, depending on my mood and the project.

How long did it take to complete your project?
The project was completed over a few months, incorporating feedback and constructive criticism to refine the design and message.

What is your dream commission?
To be commissioned for editorial work, especially for articles that explore social issues, identity or mental health, topics that allow illustration to add depth and emotion to important conversations

What’s your favourite thing to draw?
Anything that expresses emotion. Faces, figures, or forms that allow me to reflect on how I feel in the moment.

What is your best tip for other illustrators?
Your style is a reflection of who you are, let it grow naturally. Draw through every emotion; happy, sad, anxious, you’ll be amazed at what comes out. And don’t be disheartened by AI.

What are your plans for the future?
My plans for the future are to stay happy, keep growing as a designer, and create work that truly inspires and fulfills me.
