She/Her - Why did you create this work?
This personal project was created to further my style and add motion to my practice. I wanted to portray the history, essence and flavours of specific cocktails. The Espresso Martini (1980 London) was created as a customer asked for a drink to “wake me up and shake me up”. The French 75 (1915 Paris) was said to be so strong, it felt like being shot with a French 75mm field artillery. The Mojito (XVI Havana) was inspired by a medicinal mix created aboard ships to combat scurvy and dysentery. - How were your illustrations used?
The animations were designed for sharing on social media as Instagram Reels or TikTok videos to promote the new ready-to-drink cocktail can designs. - What materials and techniques did you use?
Procreate and Procreate Dreams (for the 9:16 animations), Photoshop and Premiere Pro (for the can designs and video)

@leaneruggli - Biography
Léane Ruggli is a Swiss illustrator. She creates vibrant and playful compositions while experimenting with shapes, textures and hand lettering. Her love for dynamic bold shapes comes from her interest in fashion and sports. She is drawn to the challenge that comes with restricting her colour palette while creating entangled compositions. The results are, though often unexpected, incredibly satisfying. Her portfolio spans murals, packaging design, narrative and editorial illustrations. - Where are you currently based?
United Kingdom (UK)
