He/Him - Why did you create this work?
The project was commissioned by Vinyl Moon, a vinyl club - subscription service.
Every month they release a limited "mixtape" record, and they collaborate with an artist to create the artwork for its packaging.
I had the pleasure to create the artwork for their 109th volume, entitled “Blink And You’ll Bliss It”. - How were your illustrations used?
I saw the gatefold as an art canvas to play with,and that's why the illustrations cover the entire packaging.
A big eye is the central element of the artwork, from which emerges an infinite & colorful universe. To reinforce this concept of an "inner world explosion”, part of the cover -the eye- uses a lenticular print, so it becomes an animated illustration: it mutates, it transforms, it explodes. - What materials and techniques did you use?
After drawing everything by hand, the final illustrations were created using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
For the eye animation (cover), I created the 3 frames of the animation and they were printed using lenticular printing technique. - Was this project commissioned?

Josep Prat Sorolla (1988) is a visual artist based in Igualada (Barcelona).
Besides his personal work as an artist, he also works as a commercial creative director, art director, illustrator and motion grapher, for a wide range of international clients such as Adidas, Apple, MTV, The Guardian or Netflix, among others.
