
Why did you choose to enter this work?
The pandemic has left us in a mess, but I gratefully got the chance to continue to create and sink deeper into my inner world. That's why I choose this project created during pandemic to enter.
What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
I'm proud that this work expresses far-reaching ideas with refined techniques of mixed media: it’s a hymn to ordinary life, it inspires us to face the unknown and the darkness, to live courageously.
What excites you most about being shortlisted?
This is my first picture book project, so I was really overjoyed to be shortlisted for WIA2022. I could see the rich diversity and inclusiveness, the strong creativity of the illustration industry.
Where do you usually work?
There is no sure place, but I am usually working in my own home, my studio is my home, there is a drawing table and a computer, a graphic tablet, and a lot of art supplies.
How long did it take to complete your project?
About 4 to 5 months.

The next project!
What’s your favourite thing to draw?
Human emotions and the inner landscape of living beings.
What is your best tip for other illustrators?
Following the heart and keeping the creative passion, always try to refresh the knowledge of everything. Being creative is never easy, but never give up, one day the world will listen to our stories.
What are your plans for the future?
I discovered that I was very interested in the image and the chorus between the image and the text as a vehicle of expression, So I will continue to innovate and expand in this area.
