she/her - Why did you create this work?
These illustrations were created for a book that I also wrote. A very personal book about a girl who is afraid of ghosts.
The Beetroot Forest represents visually this mysterious place we have inside of us. A place where live our feelings.
I created this story and these illustrations as a way of dealing with grief, of dealing with the loss of my mom. At that time, my daughter was very afraid of ghosts. These images are an attempt to talk about this topic in a lighter way. - How were your illustrations used?
