She/Her - Why did you create this work?
This surreal illustration explores personal transformation, with the carousel symbolizing life’s cyclical journey and evolving self-awareness. Three floating faces reflect life stages: an infant’s tears mark the first clash with reality, a fractured teenage face represents identity struggles, and an elderly smile embodies wisdom. Each ride symbolizes self-discovery and freedom, set in a vibrant, boundless world where the individual breaks free from societal constraints to create their path.
- How were your illustrations used?
This illustration serves as a personal journal for me, capturing my feelings, emotions, and reflections on life. It reflects my values and thoughts about society, allowing me to visually express my inner world and the transformative journey I experience. Through this piece, I document my evolving understanding of self and the world around me. - What materials and techniques did you use?
I used Photoshop to create this digital illustration. I focused on creating a colorful, fantasy-inspired dreamy world, emphasizing color balance and harmony throughout the composition.
